artist's notes

an interesting pose made challenging for two reasons:

  1. the grogged clay's large particles reduced the chance to create fine details at the size this was created.
  2. the model openly admitted to animal abuse in front of the entire class which didn't sit well with me for multiple reasons.

the rear of the large square base was intended to be a placement for a trough to hold plants; alas time was too short so focus was given to the main sculpture.
